Learning Objectives

My goal with Screencasting for Educators is to equip educators with the skills needed to create and edit screen recordings that they can use as part of their classroom instruction.

 

Objectives/Outcomes, Course Design, Evaluation 

Each participant will be able to…

1) Use a variety of free tools to create, organize, and share instructional videos for use with their students

2) Explore and synthesize different pedagogical approaches to using video in the classroom as a part of core instruction

3) Identify ways in which video can be used to enhance teaching and learning

 

The course design and the instructor methods to accomplish this objective are…

1) Instructors will model a variety of uses and instructional methodologies for using online tools to create well designed graphics for the classroom

2) Participants will have hands-on practice with online video tools and instructional design methodologies.

3) Online discussions and sharing of participant work with other educators in the class to help learn and improve from peer efforts.

4) The instructor will create and facilitate activities demonstrating the creative use of video tools in a K-12 learning environment. 

 

Participants will demonstrate they know and understand this objective by…

1) Completing various online activities designed to provide practice and hone teacher skills in using video as part of their own instructional materials.

2) Completing various online activities designed to provide practice and hone skills in using video as part of student projects.

3) Identifying practical ways that video can be used to improve teaching and learning in the classroom in the form of an implementation plan.

 

Course Requirements:

1. Attendance at all sessions
2. Participation in class discussions (face-to-face and online)
3. Participation in online and face-to-face learning activities
